Today, June 28th, 2025, at a total of 6 locations and with around 200 divers, we carried out an environmental action on our beautiful Mrežnica River.
This year, we opted for a different approach and “covered” 6 locations: Mali Caffe swimming area, Gmajna, St. Peter, Duga Resa swimming area, Vesela livada, and Mrežnički Varoš.
We removed 8 cubic meters of waste — including washing machines, glass bottles, roof tiles, all sorts of plastics, and even mattresses.
Among all that trash, we’re only glad that it was mostly old and dumped many years ago. Nevertheless, we’ll take this opportunity to publicly urge all citizens to use recycling centers and dispose of unwanted items without harming nature.
Numerous clubs from Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia participated, doing a great job with smiles and good will. A total of 24 clubs, all volunteers, removed other people’s trash — even from in front of other people’s homes.
